Halloween is upon us again and during the past couple of weeks, I have enjoyed watching a plethora of ghoulish movies. However, combing through my collection, I realized there was nothing between G and R, nothing between "Snuggles Eats Some Snickers" and "Bloodbath on Murder Alley".
For example, two movies I watched recently were Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Underworld. One resolves the story through a love of cheese, the other by slicing Bill Nighy's head in half. I have a fondness for both films, but is there no middle ground? No movie with some suspense and elements of otherworldliness without the consumption of brains?
Or, when it comes to watching movies for Halloween, does it all come down to trick or treat?
