Vampires, Vampires Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink
The arrival of the remake of Fright Night, along with the impending sequel in the Twilight saga, caused me to reflect on other vampire-laden films…briefly.
Nosferatu (1922): Creepy and classic, thanks Germany
Dracula (1931): I want to take the “Bella Lagosi: Acting with your Hands” class
The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973): Vampires in fuzzy vests, riding motorcycles to funky disco music, just in case the audience missed this was set in the 70’s
Dracula (1979): Langella= best Count Dracula ever
The Lost Boys (1987): Vampires with a hip 80's makeover that'll make you think twice before moving to California
Interview with the Vampire: the Vampire Chronicles (1994): Intriguing, complex, thought-provoking- Antonio Banderas as a vampire! -ahem, well-crafted…
Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995): Mel Brooks and Leslie Nielsen, need I say more?
Shadow of the Vampire (2000): Wtf?
Twilight (2008): Moody, moody, moody
Of course, there are countless others I have failed to mention and countless more to come (fingers crossed).
